ELM327 Identifier 1.18.19

ELM327 Identifier is a useful app that helps you accurately identify the version of your ELM327 adapter. This is particularly important because many China clone adapters often falsely claim to be ELM327 compatible.

This app sends almost all AT commands available and displays which commands are supported based on the official ELM327 datasheet (up to firmware v2.2 and v2.3 experimental). This allows you to quickly verify if the adapter's declaration is correct or if it's a fake adapter.

It's worth noting that some AT commands require a car connection with a specific protocol in order to work. These commands are not checked by the app to ensure comparable results. In total, the app checks 114 AT commands.

How to Use the App:

1. Power on the ELM327 adapter either through the car diagnostic interface or by using a power supply.
2. If not already done, pair the ELM327 adapter with your Android device using the Bluetooth settings or connect the ELM327 WiFi with your Android device.
3. Start the app and click the CONNECT button. Select the connection type and, if applicable, choose the paired ELM327 adapter.
4. Once a successful connection is established, the scan will automatically begin.
5. Wait for the scan to complete and review the results on screen. A white bar indicates which supported commands should be available.
6. Click RESULTS to view scanning details and optionally save the results to the internal SD card.
7. If desired, click RESCAN to verify the adapter again.

Important Note:

A fake adapter does not necessarily mean that it won't work with your applications.
